The following opportunities are available on the day of the Event. Please check any areas that interest you. In most cases, we are able to fulfill one of your requested assignments. However, we hope you will be flexible if we place you in another area that needs your help! Thank you!

On the Event Day (May 3, 2014)

On-Site Registration & Check-In 4:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Assist with site set-up, Day of Event registrations, and registered participant Check-in, including distribution of participant packets, event t-shirts and donation collection. Must be 16 or older.
Rest Stop Operations 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Times vary depending upon location.
These teams are responsible for set-up of site (as per provided site maps), food/drink distribution, bike parking and traffic control at each Rest Stop location. There are approximately eight Rest Stop locations on each route, and each will need its own operations volunteer team.
Must have own transportation to/from Rest Stop. Should be able to lift 30 lbs.
Course Marshalls 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Times vary depending upon location.
Will be stationed at designated locations on route where it is determined that assistance is required for cyclists. Marshalls might need to provide direction to cyclists or assist cyclists in proceeding through a particular intersection or across a street. Marshall's will ONLY direct cyclists–NOT vehicular traffic. Must have own transportation to/from designated route location. Must be 18 or older.
Sweep/SAG Support 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This team circulates the route in vans, offering transportation to cyclists needing assistance to Rest Stops. Must be 25 or older with valid drivers' license and insurance, and able to load bicycles into a van.
Route Clean-Up 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This team is responsible for the pickup/transport of bagged trash from Rest Stops, and pickup/transport of loose trash and Event signage from along the route to the finish area at the Spoetzl Brewery. Must be 25 or older with valid drivers' license and insurance, and able to lift at least 30 lbs.
Volunteer Check-In (Shiner) 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Will assist to check in and direct all volunteers, distribute Volunteer identification and help handle breaks and shift changes.
Finish Line Operations (Shiner) 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Will assist in the Finish Line Area, directing cyclists to Bike Parking, distributing snacks/water and providing general direction to all cyclists in the Finish Line area.
Bike Loading (Shiner) 12 (noon) – 5:00 p.m.
Will assist in the loading of bicycles to be transported by truck to Austin.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Shuttle Bus Boarding Area 12 (noon) – 5:00 p.m.
Will collect bus vouchers, ensure that riders are boarding their assigned bus, assist with bus staging and departure.
Bike Unloading (Austin) 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Will assist in the unloading of bicycles from Shiner, in Austin.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Event Breakdown & Cleanup 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
This team will manage the breakdown & cleanup of the Finish Line site, including breakdown of tables/chairs, trash collection and signage collection.
